A pair of Heat golfers claim their first ever tournament

The PACWEST is proud to announce the golf Athletes of the Week following the first tournament of the season.

Female Golf Athlete of the Week
Samantha Copeland – UBC Okanagan Heat

She led the field from wire to wire in her first PACWEST tournament shooting rounds of 83 and 84. Her two round total of 167 was two strokes better than the next competitor.

Male Golf Athlete of the Week
Marcus Apchin – UBC Okanagan Heat

In his first PACWEST tournament Apchin impressed the field laced with veterans. He shot 71 and 69 and finished one stroke better than the defending CCAA gold medalist. Apchin connected on an eagle during Saturday’s round and utilized his short game on Sunday in the very wet conditions.
