Mariners Sweep Blues

The VIU Mariners are heading back to the PACWEST gold medal match and the CCAA national championship after a three-set sweep of the fifth seed Capilano Blues on Friday night; 25-18, 25-12, 25-17,

The Mariners flexed their offensive muscle early and often getting production from different players including Player of the Year Jane Lytvynenko who led the way with 11 kills.  Danielle Groenendijk who has been injured this season played at about 50% and was very good on the service line and tallied five kills.

Saturday afternoon the Mariners will face the Douglas Royals for PACWEST gold.  Regardless of the outcome both teams will fly to Prince Edward Island to represent the Conference at the national championship.
