Swarming defence and a full court press was the recipe for the Capilano Blues on Thursday night in a quarterfinal win over the Camosun Chargers.
The Blues held the Chargers to a total of nine points in the second and third quarters while not allowing any easy baskets, keeping their offence to 24% shooting. They also created 22 turnovers and made 14 steals in the win.
Offensively the Blues struggled from the field shooting 25% led by Sheleese Hoilett off the bench for a game high 17 points, seven of which came from the free throw line. She was named the Player of the Game. Mia Parkin was also outstanding, pacing her team early and tallied 12 points and 13 rebounds and Maddy Coffin chipped in with 13 points.
