Falcons Win Thriller
The Langara Falcons advance to the semis in an exciting win on Thursday
What a way to finish Day One of the PACWEST championship tournament as the Langara Falcons hold on to beat the Okanagan Coyotes 92-90 in front of an outstanding crowd in Kelowna.
They would outscore the Coyotes 28-23 in the final frame to claim victory led by Player of the Game Royce Sargeant who had 14 points in the fourth including four-three pointers. He finished with an incredible 36 points with seven-three pointers. Moeiz Athaya and Josh Kagande were solid with 16 points and Kagande was simply outstanding on the defensive side with six steals. As a team the Falcons shot 44% from the field.
The season ends for the Coyotes after the loss but have nothing to hang their heads about. They shot 50% from the field and Jarron Quarles put on a show with 29 points and 12 rebounds and was named their Player of the Game. Brandon Porter dropped in 15 and Kai Batten was a sparkplug off the bench with 13 points and 11 boards.
The Falcons advance to the semifinal and will meet the Camosun Chargers on Friday afternoon.
