PACWEST MBB Semi-Final - Coyotes v. Mariners

For the first time in PACWEST history a semi-final will feature the Okanagan Coyotes after their come from behind win over the Capilano Blues to win their first ever playoff game.  Down for the majority of the game the Coyotes mounted a comeback in the fourth quarter and took down the host Blues 84-82 to set up today’s tilt with the Mariners.

During the regular season the Mariners swept the three meetings with the Coyotes by an average of 25.6 points a game.  They last met on January 19^th when the Mariners won by 22 points.

The Coyotes maybe in unfamiliar territory in this semi-final but for the Mariners they are no stranger to this game.  They are the defending CCAA national champions and have appeared in a PACWEST semi-final in each of the last 11 seasons.  The last time they weren’t in this game was in 2008 when they fell to the CBC Bearcats in a quarterfinal.

The winner of this game will automatically receive a berth into the CCAA national championship as the PACWEST has a wildcard entry along with the tournament champion.
