Women's Finale Weekend
The women's volleyball schedule will wrap up this weekend with all six schools in action
PACWEST women’s volleyball will take center stage this weekend with three schools fighting for two playoff spots as the season comes to a close.
Camosun Chargers @ Douglas Royals – Friday February 13, 6:00pm | WATCH HERE
They are two of the schools fighting for a berth at the PACWEST volleyball championship in two weeks as the Royals (6-12) host the Chargers (6-12) in a doubleheader.
These two are so even that in their first weekend, they earned a split, both beating each other in five sets. Speaking of splits, the Royals are coming off one on their home floor to draw into a tie with the Chargers and COTR Avalanche heading into the final two matches.
The Chargers meanwhile have just one win in their last six matches and will need a solid road performance to take down the Royals. They come into the weekend winning three times this season on the road.
On Saturday afternoon these two schools will meet again at 1:00pm and will be scoreboard watching as well.
COTR Avalanche @ Capilano Blues – Friday February 13, 6:00pm | WATCH HERE
Coming into the final weekend of the regular season the Avalanche are fighting for a playoff spot and have the tougher road to plow against the top seeded Capilano Blues. They will need at least one upset win this weekend to punch their ticket to the postseason as they battle the Royals and Chargers for the playoffs.
The Blues (17-1) have clinched the top seed and will face the fourth seeded team in the PACWEST championship semi-final which could be the Avalanche. They come into the final weekend of the regular season having won four in a row and are undefeated at home this year.
As for the Avalanche (6-12) they will make the long trip to North Vancouver looking for a playoff spot. They have struggled as of late with one win in their last seven matches and will need to play a near perfect road weekend to take down the veteran laced Blues.
On Saturday, these two schools will meet again at 1:00pm in the rematch.
CBC Bearcats @ VIU Mariners – Friday February 13, 6:00pm | WATCH HERE
Heading into the regular season finale the Mariners have clinched a spot in the postseason, the Bearcats have not, at least not yet.
The Mariners (14-4) know they will finish as the second seed this season, something that hasn’t happened since 2018. They come into the weekend winners of their last five and have been outstanding at home this season with a 7-1 record. They opened the 2025-26 schedule at CBC in mid-October and took them down in straight sets in both matches. Their veteran laced group will use this weekend as a final tune up before the playoffs open in a couple of weeks.
The Bearcats (5-13) are currently sitting on the outside looking in at the playoff picture but in reality, they are two points out of a postseason berth. The trick for the Bearcats is they are not really in control of their own destiny. If they upset the Mariners in both matches this weekend, it still may not guarantee them a playoff spot. They need to win and get some help from other schools to beat the teams they are chasing in the standings. They know if they lose on Friday, that will eliminate them for the season.
Regardless of what happens on Friday night, these two will round out their respective schedules on Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm when they play their final regular season match.
