Mariners Meet Queens
The PACWEST champs open the CCAA nationals against the host team

The PACWEST champion Mariners meet the Red Deer Queens, the host team of the CCAA women’s national championship tournament on Wednesday afternoon.
The Mariners are making their second straight trip to the nationals after finishing fourth last season. They won 10 games this year and scored a Conference high 34 times led by Player of the Year and All-Canadian Jada Kamerman. She can find room on the pitch to score or set up teammates with her incredible vision and had countless assists to her teammates. Keeper Kaiden Thorpe will be tested against this team and will try and capture some of the magic of the regular season after recording eight clean sheets.
The Queens also won 10 games and tallied 46 goals while only allowing 12 during the regular season. They are a well disciplined team and will be patient looking for a time to strike…when they do it will be lightning fast They won bronze in the ACAC championship tournament and of course received the bye into nationals. They are led by Olivia Lundell and McKenna Leslie who combined to score 23 of their 46 goals during the regular campaign. Their keeper, Jana Leskewich was very good recording four clean sheets and a GAA under one.
The winner will advance to the national semi-final game set for Thursday.
