Next weekend the Royals (7-7) head to the island to meet the VIU Mariners (7-7) and the Avalanche (12-2) hope to get Diego Policarpo back in the lineup when they welcome the Capilano Blues (8-8).
Capilano Blues 3
CBC Bearcats 1
After falling on Friday night, the visiting Blues rallied on Saturday night to earn an important weekend split with the hometown Bearcats.
The visitors jumped out to a 2-0 match lead early on with set wins of 25-18 and 29-27 and looked to have the match in hand, but hang on. The Bearcats showed heart and battled back in the third despite the heartbreaking loss in the second. They would cut the Blues lead in half with a 25-23 third set win and were trying to steal the momentum back heading into the fourth.
The Blues, however, stayed with the game plan and fired back in the fourth, finishing off the ‘Cats 25-23 for their eighth win of the campaign.
Next weekend the Blues (8-8) and Bearcats (3-13) will both enjoy the bye week.
