The PACWEST men are back on the pitch for a weekend doubleheader
Men’s PACWEST soccer is back on the pitch this weekend as Week 2 kicks off with each of the four teams playing both Saturday and Sunday.
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 13, 2025
Douglas Royals @ Langara Falcons – 2:30pm – Langley Events Centre | WATCH HERE
It’s a rematch of last year’s PACWEST gold medal game as the Falcons and Royals meet for the first time since that title match. The Falcons won that game, so the Royals are looking for a small measure of payback.
The Falcons are coming off a split with the Capilano Blues last weekend. After scoring five times on Saturday, they could only muster two on Sunday in the rematch. The Royals on the other hand won two very competitive and physical games at VIU with both games decided by just one goal.
This match up will feature several very good players highlighted by Maslah Farah who scored a hattrick for the Falcons last weekend and the reigning Athlete of the Week Ayman Sahmudden of the Royals as they combined for five goals.
VIU Mariners @ Capilano Blues – 3:30pm – Lillooet Park | WATCH HERE
The Mariners hit the road for the first time this season and visit the Blues on Saturday afternoon on the natural grass surface of Lillooet Park. The Mariners fell in both home games last weekend scoring three times against the visiting Douglas Royals. They played well and were able to sustain pressure in the Royals end but couldn’t find that timely goal with the clock winding down.
After getting blasted in their first game last weekend, the Blues showed great poise and character coming back to earn a 3-2 win the next day against the defending champion Falcons. Sebastian Cirotto found his scoring touch and tallied a pair in the victory including the eventual game winner. He was the PACWEST scoring champ last year with eight goals.
SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 14, 2025
Capilano Blues @ Douglas Royals – 2:30pm – Towne Centre Park | WATCH HERE
The Royals will finally host their home opener on Sunday when they entertain the Blues. These two schools always seem to have a highly contested game which should hold true once again on Sunday. Both teams will be playing their second match of a weekend doubleheader.
VIU Mariners @ Langara Falcons – 2:30pm – Langley Events Centre | WATCH HERE
The Falcons will play their second straight home game this weekend when they host the Mariners for this first time this season. Both teams will look for a fast start after coming off a game on Saturday so fatigue in the late stages on Sunday will no doubt be a factor.
The second half will be an excellent indicator of which team has had better conditioning in preparation for this season.
