Fourth Quarter Falcons
The Langara Falcons ride a big fourth quarter to a win
Week 12 of the men’s PACWEST basketball schedule opened on Thursday night and featured just one game between the Langara Falcons and CBC Bearcats.
Langara Falcons 100
CBC Bearcats 91
This was a back-and-forth game showing off the offensive talent of both teams, but in the end, it was the hometown Falcons outscoring the Bearcats 30-24 in the fourth quarter to earn their 10th win of the season and move into a third-place tie with the Capilano Blues.
Offensively the Falcons had 11 different scorers giving them a balanced attack as they hit the century mark for the third time this year. Nixon Owusu was great in the ballgame with 16 points on 8-11 shooting and snagged 12 rebounds. Edrielle Asirit came off the bench to add 16 to the scoresheet helping his team shoot 51% from the field. Starters Patrick Robinson and Aaron Ungprasert chipped in with 14 points each.
With the setback the Bearcats fail to separate themselves in the standings and remain in a fifth-place tie with the Okanagan Coyotes. On Thursday night they shot 47% with Dane-Dre Anglin scoring a game high 29 points on 11-20 shooting and Daylen Webb added 23 in the loss.
The rematch between the Falcons (10-9) and Bearcats (7-12) is set for Saturday afternoon at 3:00pm and will be played at CBC in Abbotsford.
