Capilano University Blues, is pleased to announce that Rob Gowe has been named head coach of the CapU women’s volleyball program.
“After a broad search, we are excited to bring Rob on board. He brings a fantastic mix of academic and technical knowledge backed by a passion and love for the sport. We are looking for some great things to come for Rob and our program,” says Milt Williams, CapU Athletic Director.
Rob Gowe has been a the Assistant Coach with Simon Fraser University Women’s Volleyball since 2014. SFU plays in the NCAA Div. 2 of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC). Rob has exceptionally strong roots within the North Shore volleyball community. He is currently the Head Coach and Program Lead for the Volleyball Regional Excellence program in North Vancouver, is the head coach for Team BC selects and Head coach for Sea Side Volleyball club. Rob was also a past assistant coach for the CapU men’s volleyball program in 2013. He has an impressive and successful coaching resume at various levels of community and intercollegiate competition. Rob is NCCP Advanced Development Coach (Level 2) certified and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics from UBC.
“I am very pleased Rob has accepted our offer to take on the head coaching role with the Blues,” said Williams. “Rob is a talented coach and will bring a great deal of passion, enthusiasm, stability, and winning tradition to the positon.
