Friday night was another quick one for the Mariners winning their 11th straight via a three-set sweep as they took care of the Avalanche.

Both Danielle Groenendijk and Karoline Tormena collected eight kills each. Groenendijk added 11 digs, but it was Keira Christensen that had a match high 15 digs. Andrea Cankovic had an outstanding all around match with seven kills, two service aces, six digs and four blocks.

The Avalanche offence had issues solving the Mariners defence. Mikaela Pushor collected nine kills and four digs.

Saturday morning the Avalanche (4-18) will travel to Victoria for a date with the Camosun Chargers (13-7) at 6:00pm. WATCH HERE

Douglas Royals 3 – 25-22, 25-23, 25-21
UFV Cascades 0

For the second straight night the Royals collected a three-set sweep but Friday night was closer than the final score indicated. Vania Oliveira led the offence with 10 kills to complement her nine digs. Caet McCorkell added eight kills and six digs.

The Cascades showed a lot of fight on Friday night led by Kristen McBride’s six kills. Keira Fisher and Kim Bauder added five each. On the defensive side Cassidy King had a match high 23 digs.
