In their final match of the regular season the Avalanche had the defending champion Chargers on the ropes but couldn’t finish them off despite winning the first two sets.

The Chargers stormed back in the third set and completely changed the momentum of the match. Vitor Periera was the best player on the floor with 28 kills, two service aces, 12 digs and a block. Eduardo Bida tallied 11 kills and 19 digs and Douglass Waterman chipped in with nine kills.

The Avalanche lose the heartbreaker with three players recording double-digit kills. Caleb Peters scored 19 kills and had 10 digs. Kyle Butchart finished with 12 kills and 13 digs and Gustavo Bertoli had 11 kills and three digs. Setter Mark Armstrong was busy with 34 assists and 13 digs.

Next week the Avalanche (8-16) will prepare to host the PACWEST championship tournament beginning Thursday February 21st while the Chargers (17-5) will finish the regular season with a home and home against the VIU Mariners (15-7).
