The PACWEST is pleased to announce the Basketball Athletes of the Week following Week 9 of the regular season and it’s a Blues sweep.

Female Basketball Athlete of the Week
Sherrie Errico – Capilano Blues

The veteran Blues guard scored her first points of the season after missing the first half of the year and racked up 27 in total, helping her team to a pair of wins over the visiting Camosun Chargers. The North Vancouver native was 4-of-4 in a win on Friday, getting her first buckets of the season and was in the starting lineup the next day when she scored 18 points including a pair of three-pointers. Errico added five assists and three steals to her totals and did all of her work in just 34 minutes of playing time on the weekend.

Male Basketball Athlete of the Week
Martin Bogajev – Capilano Blues

The Burnaby native helped the Blues to their first win of 2020 with a 25-point effort in a 77-72 triumph over the visiting Camosun Chargers on Saturday. Bogajev struck for 22 of his points in the second half, including four of his five threes on the day in leading the comeback. The 6-foot guard also led the Blues in rebounds and assists with eight and six respectively. In all he had 40 points for the weekend, shooting, 41% from the field while playing 74 of 80 minutes for a Blues team missing three guards.
