The Chargers bounced back after a heartbreaking overtime loss on Friday night at Langara. They shot 38% in their victory and 37% from downtown. Ismail Abdulahi came off the bench to lead all scorers with 26 points. He shot 10 of 14 from the field and was three of five from behind the arch. Jake Wilmott hit four-threes and finished with 19.

PACWEST leading scorer Antonio Jhuty struggled for the Falcons shooting just two of 15 from the field and finished with 12 points. Moeiz Athaya led the way with 21 points while Grant Gaibraith was solid down low with 20 points.

Douglas Royals 101
Capilano Blues 86

The Royals exploded out of the gate outscoring the hometown Blues 27-14 in the opening frame and never looked back. They shot an incredible 62.5% from the field and 50% from downtown led by the 23 points from Courtney Anderson who was a perfect on the night hitting all nine shots he took, was 2-2 from the three-point arch and 3-3 from the free throw line. Meanwhile Tyrone Asenoguan came off the bench and tallied 21 points. Josiah Mastandrea dropped in five-three pointers.

The Blues started to heat up after the first quarter but it wasn’t enough despite them shooting 50% from the field. Denver Sparks-Guest was again outstanding with 31 points. Brendan Bailey was three of four from downtown and finished with 16 points and Chris Schneller dropped in 15.

VIU Mariners 107
CBC Bearcats 91

This game was close right down to the wire as the Bearcats gave the first place Mariners a scare.

Both teams shot 50% from the field as the Mariners were led by their big man in Jerod Dorby who dropped a game high 32 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Landon Radliff finished with20 points and Tyus Barfoot chipped in with 19.

The Bearcats’ starters stayed with the Mariners led by Gabe Mannes and his 28 points including four-three pointers. Ykealo Araia also hit four from downtown and tallied 20 points and Trent Baker had 19.
